About

Both in my work as a Clinical Psychologist and socially, I have become increasingly aware of ‘Singlettes’. Singlettes are a group of gorgeous girls who, for one reason or another, can’t find an appropriate life partner. These ladies often wonder what is wrong with them, struggle with feelings of loneliness, rejection and lack of belonging, and worry about missing out.

Being single when you don’t want to be is a common cause of Depression, Anxiety and low Self Esteem. Singlettes are often surrounded by the media, friends and family who put pressure on Singlettes to race their ‘biological clocks.’ At the same time they are bombarded with ideas and experiences of a ‘man drought,’ resulting in feelings of hopelessness and disempowerment.

This blog aims to:

– Uncover the truth behind popular concepts such as the ‘man drought’
– Explore the modern dating environment
– Compare current dating norms and processes to historical ones
– Draw upon psychological research to inform Singlettes thinking and choices in the area of dating
– Help Singlettes improve their self esteem and reduce anxiety and depression
– Help Singlettes respond to unhelpful commentary around their being single
– Help Singlettes deal with uncertainty and uncomfortable emotions
– Help Singlettes make the choices that are right for them
– Help Singlettes find their life partner
